Spotify Says It Can’t Find The Owners of 217,112 Songs

Spotify recently filed 217,112 “address unknown” NOIs with the U.S. Copyright Office saying that they were unable to locate any owner of these copyrighted songs anywhere in public records.

Google Posts now gives museums, movies, musicians & sports groups dedicated space in search

Museums, musicians, movies, sports teams and sports leagues are now being given a special area for their content to appear in Google’s search results, through an expansion of the “Posts by Google” program.

MDMA might be able to cure Tinnitus

Tinnitus, a condition of constant ringing in the ear that can be very irritating and destructive to some, can possibly be cured by the drug MDMA. Research started about two years ago when users of MDMA said that it started to relieve their Tinnitus symptoms. Since then, multiple experiments have been conducted.

Live Nation is on one: It’s made 13 acquisitions in the past 13 months

Little did we know, that was just the beginning. In the first three months of 2017 alone, LN has taken control of no less than six music businesses. 

Its latest acquisition is the UK’s Isle Of Wight Festival, which will now be co-run by LN with John Giddings’ Solo Music Agency – after Live Nation purchased a majority stake in the event.

Pandora debuts $9.99 service that rivals Spotify, Apple

Pandora is bringing on-demand song choice to its streaming radio service — for a premium. The new on-demand service Pandora Premium, which costs $9.99 monthly, lets subscribers choose and play any song or album and use new playlist creation features. Currently, Pandora’s Internet radio can be listened to free with advertisements, but you cannot choose a specific song, only artists or a type of music. Listeners can give songs a thumbs up to hear more songs similar to that or thumbs down to not hear that track again on that station.
